The loss was charged to David Price(0-1). Cody Dudley was asked about the performance of Lynn, 'He had his good stuff out there tonight. Drew Pomeranz(2-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings. Dan Straily(1-1) ended up with the loss. He pitched 7 innings giving up 8 hits and 2 walks. Judge had a great evening at the plate. He lined a one-base hit bringing in a run in the 1st inning, delivered a solo blast in the 3rd inning, caught a hold of a fastball for a Grand Slam homerun in the 6th inning and hit a bases-empty home run in the 8th inning. Washington had 17 hits for the night. The win went to Gonzalez(1-0) who allowed 1 run in the game. Marcus Stroman(0-2) was tagged with the loss. He was knocked around by Washington, allowing 12 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. The Washington fans were thrilled by the performance put forth by Gonzalez, but it was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10 strikeouts the fans showed him their appreciation with a loud cheer.' Doug Auman said following the game.

Seager led the offense for San Francisco. He stroked a single in the 1st inning, doubled plating a run in the 4th inning, stroked a one-base hit which was good for two runs in the 5th inning and delivered a base-hit knocking in a run in the 9th inning.
