Kansas City scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning scoring 2 runs. After two were out Andrew McCutchen jump-started the rally as he reached on an error. Marwin Gonzalez stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. Craig Kimbrel then had one get away for a wild pitch. Carlos Santana was up next and he drew a walk to load the bases. Kimbrel then unleashed a wild pitch resulting in a run. J.D. Martinez contributed to the rally and was walked intentionally to load the bases. Khris Davis next to the plate and he drew a walk making Kansas City victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Kansas City rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon. Archie Bradley(1-1) went 1/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the victory. Dellin Betances(0-2) ended up with the loss in relief. It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned run in his 2 and 1/3 innings of work.
