Atlanta brought 5 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 6th inning when they came up with 5 base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Buxton who electrified Turner Field when he doubled scoring two baserunners. Minnesota threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. Jordan Montgomery(2-1) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Montgomery got help from Raisel Iglesias who earned his 4th save. Randall Delgado(0-2) was hit with the loss in relief. Pat Neshek got the save, his 2nd. Cole Hamels(2-3) ended up with the loss. He struggled with his control issuing 6 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. With this win, Toronto has a 11-11 record. They have been 4-6 lately. With the loss, the San Francisco ballclub's record is 12-10. Scherzer(2-3) escaped virtually unscathed against the Baltimore hitters. He didn't allow much, just 2 hits and no walks in 9 innings. Scherzer chalked up 14 strikeouts. Cleveland banged out 10 hits on the night. Jhoulys Chacin(3-2) took the loss. Cleveland scored big getting 5 runs off him in 2 and 2/3 innings. Scherzer was pleased with his performance.
