The final score was the Atlanta Braves 5, the Pittsburgh Pirates 4. Atlanta won the game with a rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs. Trey Mancini led off and he drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Elvis Andrus came up and he drew a walk. Ryan Braun then drew a walk to load the bases. Yan Gomes followed and he delivered a one-base hit knocking home two runners. Despite losing, Pittsburgh out-hit Atlanta 11 to 8. The winning pitcher was Danny Barnes(4-10) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Raisel Iglesias gained credit for his 11th save. Justin Wilson(4-3) took the loss in relief. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings giving up no hits and 5 walks. The Atlanta ballclub's record now stands at 36-50. But he just used it as fuel for the fire. He smacked a three-run homer in the 1st inning, tripled emptying the bases in the 2nd inning and lined a single in the 9th inning. Toronto managed 12 hits in their victory. Jeff Samardzija(6-9) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 1/3 innings and allowing 7 runs. Jacob Degrom(5-9) ended up with the loss. He saw his ERA jump from 3.43 to 3.88 as gave up 6 runs in 1/3 of an inning. Garrett Richards(7-4) gave a fine effort for Minnesota. He went 5 innings allowing 5 hits and 1 walk. Richards whiffed an impressive total of 7 Tampa Bay batters. Tampa Bay was out-hit by Minnesota, 10 hits to 7. Richards was helped out by David Robertson who recorded his 25th save. Chris Archer(5-9) was charged with the loss. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 5 and 1/3 innings.

Michael Fulmer(4-9) took the loss. He gave up 3 runs and 9 hits in 7 and 2/3 innings. Kershaw was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there. Shaw was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He hit a bases-empty home run in the 2nd inning and cracked a two-run shot in the 8th inning. The Washington offense man-handled the Kansas City pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings. Ray(8-6) got the win allowing 4 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Alex Wood(6-8) took the loss. He was unable to control the Washington offense and allowed 13 hits and 4 walks in 7 innings. Ray was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the game.'
