Cabrera had a good evening at the plate. He ripped a base-knock which plated a run in the 4th inning, launched a Grand Slam homerun in the 5th inning and lined a single in the 7th inning. Detroit had a total of 13 hits for the game. The victory went to Gausman(6-6) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Jason Vargas(3-10) was charged with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings. Minnesota simply wore out the Kansas City pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings. Meyer(9-3) went the distance for the shutout. The loss was charged to Jose Berrios(9-5).
