Votto enjoyed a great day at the plate. He doubled plating a run in the 3rd inning, lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the 4th inning and bombed a two-run dinger in the 8th inning. Merrifield was safe at second on a stolen base. Jose Martinez then was walked intentionally. Wilmer Flores was up next and he doubled driving home two runs. Andrew Benintendi came to the plate and laced a base-knock scoring the final run of the inning. Pittsburgh totaled 9 hits on the afternoon. The victory was credited to Jose Leclerc(7-6) who went 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing no runs. Aroldis Chapman(1-3) ended up with the loss in relief.

Reddick enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He ripped a base-hit plating two runs in the 1st inning, lashed a single which was good for two runs in the 8th inning and doubled scoring two baserunners in the 9th inning. Cleveland kept the scorekeepers busy in the 9th inning which saw them score 5 runs on 6 hits. The Cleveland offense poured it on, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.
